  • Brock has been an approachable freelance and organizational mentor to dozens of aspiring artists, designers, writers, and editors; several of Brock’s mentees have gone on to be published regularly, including in many “Year’s Best” anthologies, as well as securing nominations and wins for the HWA Bram Stoker Award, World Fantasy Award, SFWA Nebula Award, British Fantasy Award, Locus Award, and others. An experienced instructor, speaker, panelist, and lively reader, Brock has led workshops and conducted classes for others at many film festivals, as well as science fiction, fantasy, and horror conventions—both domestically and internationally—in addition to college special appearances, gallery showings, signings, and film screenings. His mentees and students have obtained agents, book and film deals, and also been accepted into prestigious writing programs in the past (such as Clarion West) due to his guidance, advice, and expertise. In addition, he is the sole administrator of the Estate of William F. Nolan.
